Port Stephens

Port Stephens has it all – crystal clean waterways, glorious beaches, untouched national parks and a host of fun packed sporting and recreational activities. All this just 2hours drive north of Sydney – absolutely perfect for a few days away.

Despite the scope and range of its attractions, Port Stephens remains untouched by the commercialism of many other popular short break destinations. All you will find is the opportunity to relax, enjoy and partake of the areas delights at your will, at any time of the year.

Port Stephens has earned a well deserved title of `Dolphin Capital of Australia,’ as it is home to more than 160 resident dolphins who love riding the bow waves of boats and often leap right out of the water to the delight of visitors.

Twice a year, the Port also plays host to one of natures truly magnificent spectacles – the sight of huge humpback whales on their annual migratory journey up the coast to warmer waters to breed and then to return to Antarctica.

When it comes to beaches, its hard to beat the famous Stockton Beach. Stretching 32 kms, its towering sand dunes form a truly impressive backdrop. Take a 4WD tour along the bight where you can indulge in a bit of sand boarding on the way.

Shoal Bay and Nelson's Bay are both popular destinations in Port Stephens.
