In these days of uncertainty, turbulence and stress, escape to the lifestyle and country hospitality that Gloucester has to offer. You will not be disappointed.

Acclaimed for its friendliness and serene surroundings, Gloucester, Basecamp to World Heritage Barrington Tops, is the perfect place to relax, unwind and do nothing, or alternatively go for a drive - enjoy the breathtaking views, dramatic mountain ranges, the beautiful rivers and valleys.

Boasting a huge range of outdoor activities from bush drives and walks to a game of golf, bowls, fishing, horse riding, 4WD tours, skydiving or canoeing. Visit the Folk Museum or Gloucester Gallery to learn more about the local history and culture.

Copeland’s historic Goldtown has long been a major attraction for the district with group guided tours of the Mountain Maid Gold Mine.

Known for its clean, green image, Gloucester is the home to Barrington Beef, Barrington Perch and many other alternative types of farming activities. These operate under the umbrella of “Essentially Barrington Co operative” and will open by appointment.

There are three licensed clubs within the town where special entertainment is often scheduled and almost every palate is catered for in our extensive choice of eating houses and fine dining outlets, ranging from Thai, Chinese, Italian and others who produce dishes specializing in locally grown produce.

Gloucester hosts a variety of events such among which are the Shakespeare on Avon Festival, the Gloucester Mountain Man Tri Challenge, The Gloucester Ceilidh, Rodeos and Country Music camps. Community markets are held on the Saturday of each long weekend.

Accommodation in the Gloucester/ Barrington Tops area is varied and there is something to suit all tastes ranging from retreats to farmstays, bed and breakfasts to camping.
